Meet Your School Leader
Ale transitioned into the UPrep School Leader role in SY24 following 13 years in education, 8 of those being at KIPP University Prep. She is a former emerging bilingual student who moved to the US from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Her mother has a 5th-grade education, and her father has an 8th-grade education. With their immense support & commitment to education, she became a first-generation high school & college graduate.
She joined Teach For America after graduating from St. Mary’s University with a biology and secondary education degree. This program led her to return to her hometown in the Rio Grande Valley to teach Chemistry & IB Biology and coach cheerleading. She then returned to San Antonio in 2013 as a teacher leadership development coach, teacher, and eventually assistant school leader.
Ale is an insane fitness instructor and dedicates herself to leading classes for staff after school. She recently became a first-time homeowner and enjoys traveling and attending concerts. She is proud to continue working alongside multiple former students as she moves into the next step of her career.
